Cardiac Diagnostic Script Pad 
Script Pad
No preparation is required for the following tests: MUGA, EKG,
HOLTER MONITOR, LOOP MONITOR, 2D ECHO.
- Treadmill Stress
Test with Nuclear Imaging (Cardiolite)
- Stress Thallium 201
- Persantine Stress Test
with Nuclear Imaging
- Dobutamine Stress Test with Nuclear Imaging
- 2D
Echo, Color Flow, Doppler
- Stress Echocardiogram (Pike Creek
or Concord Plaza Only)
- Dobutamine Stress Echo (Pike Creek
or Concord Plaza Only)
- MUGA Scan
- Holter Monitor
- Treadmill Stress Test
- EKG
- Loop Monitor
Patients must do the
following prior to testing:
All testing that includes a Stress Test, i.e. Stress Echo,
Stress Test with Nuclear Imaging and Routine Stress Testing
- The
test will take 2.5 to 3 hours.
- No food or caffeine 2 hours
prior to test.
- Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
- Stress
Thallium is 2 part test, the first part is 1 hour, you
will then return approximately 3-4 hours later for a half
hour. Cardiolite is a one part test, patients do not return.
- Remain
on all medications unless otherwise directed by your physician.
- Request
that a copy of your most recent EKG be sent or faxed to
Cardiac Diagnostic Center by your physician.
- Please contact your physician
before having this test if you are pregnant, suspect you
may be, or are a nursing mother. This test may not be appropriate
at this time.
If you are scheduled for a Persantine or
Dobutamine Stress Test, or Dobutamine Stress Echo Please
adhere to the following instructions:
- If you are scheduled
for a Pharmacological Stress Test (Dobutamine / Persantine
Stress Test with Nuclear Imaging), the test will take 3
hrs.
- If
scheduled for a Dobutamine Stress Echo, the test will take
1 1/2 hours.
- Please do not eat any food, drink any beverages,
or take any medications that contain caffeine (including
decaffeinated products) for 24 hours prior to the test.
- If
your test is scheduled before 12 noon, please do not eat
anything after midnight the night before the test. If your
test is scheduled in the afternoon, please do not eat or
drink anything after you eat breakfast on the day of the
test.
- If you are diabetic, you may eat a light
meal two hours prior to your test, regardless of the time
of the day that it is scheduled.
- Any Dobutamine study, no
beta blockers or calcium channel blockers 24 hours prior
to test.
- Remain on your medication unless your physician
has told you otherwise. Bring a list of these medications
with you. PLEASE NOTE: Medications taken for asthma or
breathing disorders may have to be stopped prior to your
test. Check with your physician.
